Thur, 29aug - Birthday near the Unabomber?

After Black Mountain the trail opened up to a wonderful ridge-line across the divide with views from open alpine meadows and lightly tree covered ups and downs.  You could see rows and rows of rolling mountains into the distance if a bit smokey.  The fading track followed the contour of the divide for most of the day.  Found a delicious patch of raspberries at a spring. 

Near Stemple Pass is the site of Ted Kaczynski's cabin (a.k.a. the Unabomber)

Here's a picture of my Birthday dinner with Swiss cheese and jalapeño buffalo jerky appetizers, pasta primavera with fresh broccoli and Johnsonville cheese and chipotle pepper stuffed chicken brats, dessert of double dark chocolet cookies and a late night snack of honey mustard pretzels.  And of course a bottle of Canadian wiskey since I'm not far from Canada.  Happy Birthday to Papa Smurf!
