Long Distance Thru-hiking:

Solstice Death March Hikes

  • 2003 – The Presidential Traverse (The Iconic NH White Mountains Death March)[link]
  • 2004 – The Devil's Path (Some consider it The Toughest Dayhike in the Northeast - Catskills NY) [link]
  • 2005 – Pemi Loop (On the list of America's Hardest Dayhikes - Pemigewasset-Franconia Ridge Loop, White Mountains NH)[link]
  • 2006 – MSGT - Monadnock-Sunapee-Greenway Traverse (Two-day 50 mile Solstice Death March)[link]
  • 2007 -  ATLoop - Old AT meets the new on a 36-mile Solstice Death March loop of the Connecticut Appalachian Trail[link]
  • 2008 – Wapack End-to-Ender - Two-day Solstice Death March of the Wapack Trail [link]
  • 2009 – Taconic Crest Trail (35.5 traverse of the Taconic Crest Trail in Western Massachusetts) [link]
  • 2010 - Appalachian Trail Four State Challange (47 miles thru VA, WV, MD & PA) Not on the solstice; but it's a death march. [link]

      Giving Back to the trail:

      • Championed the Pioneer Valley Hiking Clubs participation in the construction of the Falls Brook Shelter/Cabin (at the junction of the 22-mile Tully Loop Trail and the New England National Scenic Trail (NET - formally the MM) [link to NET]
      • Championed adoption of section 1&2 of the Metacomet-Monadnock trail by the Pioneer Valley Hiking Club [link to PVHC]
      •  Assisted with the layout and construction of the first trail of the Kingston New Hampshire Town Forest Trail System [link]
