Miss judged my water needs in the warmth at this lower altitude, passing up a good water source and finding the next few on the map dry. The end of the day found me in sagebrush covered flat terrain and sharing water sources with cows as if I was back in New Mexico.

Tue, 9 July - Bridger Peak and Medicine Bow
A nice climb up Bridger Peak. Through the Medicine Bow National Forrest the route along the divide was open and rocky; cross-country rolling hills marked with posts and cairns and thick sagebrush with wildflowers. Between the open hills were stands of beetle damaged pines with blowdowns just to make it more interesting.
