Tue, June 11 - Marshall Pass, Monarch Pass and the Town of Salida

Very cool cabin at Marshall Pass, and the first lean-to on the trail a few miles farther up trail. Wonderful section from Marshall Pass to Monarch Pass.  Met up with Flyby and we hiked the very scenic ridge to Monarch Pass.  Some cool snow cornices to cross too.

Got a ride into Salida from a 100mile female trail racer who holds the record for the most 100mile races in a year, 36.  Staying at the Simple Lodge and Hostel where the owner shared some homemade apricot infused moonshine.  Very cool river walk with old growth trees and climbing walls.
