Sept 1st, Mt Thielsen

Sybille dropped me back on the trail just north of Crater Lake after a nice lunch at Shelter Cove where we left a food drop. She is flying home tonight. Starting to see a lot more thru hikers so I am still near the back of the serious hikers. Passed right under the peak of Mt Thielsen; what a scary looking last 50 yards on this peak. Wish I could have climbed her but that last 50 yards just looked outside my comfort level to do alone.  Glad they opened up the trail again as this was the start of the 30 mile Butte Fire detour.
